{YuM-a-LiSh} Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.

January 27, 2017 | Uncategorized

It’s been COLD here this week.
Really, really COLD.
{High 50s and to us AZ wimps…that’s COLD!}

I always love baking when it’s extra cold outside.
Yesterday, I wanted a yummy afterschool treat for my kiddos
{and let’s be honest…something yummy for myself!} and so I whipped up this family recipe.

I had forgotten just how tasty these cookies are.
Carson, the pickiest eater in our house, said he wanted me to make MORE this weekend.

Hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Marci’s Oatmeal Chocolate Chippers

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening {Crisco}
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheet.

Beat shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, salt and oats.  Mix in chocolate chips.

Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet 2″ apart.

Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
