Day 3 in southern Utah began with a drive around the mountain.
It was such a wet winter up here that there’s STILL snow on some parts of the mountain! Crazy, huh?
One of the things that I REALLY wanted to do while we were here was visit the small town of Paragonah, UT where my Grandpa was born and raised. I wanted to visit the cemetary for family history purposes {yes, I know…I am an old lady now} and it did not disappoint!
Within the past 10 years, the town created a Veteran’s Memorial at the cemetary there and it was so neat seeing my Grandpa’s name on one of the signs.
We SAW lots of headstones of people we were related to, including my GREAT Grandparents.
It was so special here for me.
My kids and niece on the other hand, did not think it was so fascinating…๐
We headed into Cedar City afterwards {my old college stompin’ grounds} and NO trip to Cedar is complete without having lunch at the Pizza Factory.
Their breadsticks and salad bar are things that I DREAM of.
We walked around on the Southern Utah University campus {my Alma Mater!} which never gets old…
SO fun for my kids to see the radio station that I used to DJ at while going to school.
Also! What a brilliant idea on campus, huh?
So proud of my T-birds for implementing this.
Stopped by a place I used to walk to as a kid from my Grandma’s house back in the olden days….
Can’t beat the sweet treats at Bulloch Drug!
We headed back up the mountain and had a campfire after dinner time…
It was the perfect weather and oh so cozy!
Fun Fact: If you’re not eating s’mores with Reese’s PB cups instead of Hershey’s chocolate…you’re doing it all wrong.
We ended the night with snuggles on the couch and more puzzle time.
It was pretty fantastic.
