* Friday started off with birthday celebrations for my momma!
I met my parents and sister for breakfast HERE.
Fun Fact: They give you a piece of FREE pie on your birthday! And their pie >>> everywhere else.
* Afterwards I headed to Costco to stock up on some food for a luncheon I was in charge of this past weekend.
Costco on a Friday or Saturday is NEVER my favorite thing.
I usually try and avoid it at all costs on these days.
The line JUST to get out the door was a mile long.
*Once back home I cleaned up my house and did laundry, all while jamming out to my favorite tunes….
I know, I know. I feel like I should be at least 10 years older with the music I like to listen to some days. π
Seriously though – – the Elton John Pandora station is πππ
* Date night Friday night with one of our favorite couples.
We tried THIS {new to us} burger joint in Chandler…
I thought it was SUPER yummy.
My burger was delish {it had garlic mayo on it! Mmmm!} and their onion rings were just the way I like em.
Joe however, was not a big fan.
He thought their burgers were too greasy.
I blame it on the head cold he had all weekendπ
We headed to BJs for dessert, afterwards.
These 2 make us laugh so hard!
We got the pizza cookie trio – – 1 oreo 1 pb and 1 chocolate chip. Yum-A-lish! Such a fun night.
* Saturday I spent most of the morning at my stake center, preparing for a luncheon that I was in charge of.
I was told to prepare for 20-40 people.
Wait. What?
That’s such a hard number to prepare for.
You either buy too little or way too much.
We ended feeding about 35 people and I still….had way too much leftover.
Also: guess where THE BEST place is to order subway style sandwiches from for a party? Wal-Mart! Can you even believe it? I ordered 1 – 6 ft sandwich and 1 – 4ft sandwich and they were DIVINE. Their bread was fresh as was their meat, veggies and cheese. People snarfed em down.
Plus….their prices were phenomenal and SOmuch cheaper than anywhere else I looked.
* I came home to CARSON FINALLY GETTING HIS GLASSES IN THE MAIL!!!!!
He’s been SO excited for them to arrive and boy, does he look handsome in them!!!
* Another date night Satuday night with some of our favorite peeps. This time we tried my NEW favorite pizza place in downtown Chandler.
Seriously, SO yummy!
They’re know for their ‘big a*& pizza slices and they do not disappoint. They are HUGE!!!
* Churchey-church on Sunday.
Well, for everyone but Joe. He stayed home sick.π
As part of my calling in our church, I had the opportunity to visit 2 other ward Relief Societys on Sunday.
I love doing this.
It’s so fun to get to know the different sisters in each ward.
Our stake has SUCH GOOD PEOPLE in it.
Sidenote: our Stake Relief Society is planning this fireside…
It’s going to be fabulous.
If you live near me – – you don’t even have to be in my stake – – it will be WELL worth your time to attend.
Not so FUN FACT: I have suffered from depression and anxiety for most of my life. I know that it is VERY real.
Chances are — you know someone who suffers from it to.
I thank the lucky stars for a number of things, including medication – to keep me MY happy self!
* Sunday night we had one of our favorite friends over for dinner.
We are SO glad that our Judy is back in town and could eat with us!!!
Judy brought us FRESH AS CAN BE peaches from Utah.
I tried a new peach cobbler recipe with em and…..YUM.
I’ll be sharing it with you tomorrow!

Hi Marci, I love your blog and I am so interested in the fireside your Stake is doing about depression and anxiety. Could you give me more information about it? I am a Ward Relief Society President and would like to do something like what you are doing on a ward level. I would appreciate any help you can send my way. Thanks so much for addressing this depression and anxiety, it so real and I want to help the sisters in my ward to understand it as well. Thank you so much.

I love so much that you go on fun dates. I really really need to make that more of a priority & to hang out with other couples. I do things with girls but where I live couples hardly do anything together… so boring lol
I would love to go to that fireside. My daughter suffers with high anxiety and its very real and very terrifying I'm so glad you are v addressing it.
Mmh peach cobbler. I can't wait for the recipe

I don't think people quite understand just how scary anxiety and depression can be!! So sad for your sweet girl to be going thru it. I started experiencing it at a young age myself. Xoxo
