Today I had the privledge of teaching my cute church girls the lesson on:
I made copies of THIS talk for each girl to look over and we discussed in detail some of our favorite parts. Such good material within that talk!
We watched THIS video clip and we talked about the importance of becoming ‘easily guided’ in all that we do.
I also found THIS talk from President Gordon B. Hinckley that I
LOVE LOVE LOVED!
He says:
” There is no substitute under the heavens for productive labor. It is the process by which dreams become realities. It is the process by which idle visions become dynamic achievements.
Most of us are inherently lazy. We would rather play than work. We would rather loaf than work. A little play and a little loafing are good. But it is work that spells the difference in the life of a man or woman. It is stretching our minds and utilizing the skill of our hands that lift us from mediocrity. It is work that provides the food we eat, the clothing we wear, the homes in which we live. We cannot deny the need for work with skilled hands and educated minds if we are to grow and prosper individually and if our nation is to stand tall before the world.”
Obviously…the word LOAF really stuck out to me.
We talked about what the word LOAF means in this quote – – lazy, idle, non-productive, etc.
And so my handout idea was born….
{smile}.
I baked up my very favorite Pumpkin Bread recipe and attached this tag to it:
If you’d like a copy of my FREE handout click HERE.
P.S. I also shared this quick poem with the girls that I found and loved:
Be not always wanting
Some other work to do,
But gratefully perform the task
The Lord has given you. – Anon
No matter who signs your paycheck, you are really working for God.
Make everything you do COUNT!

HI Marci! Love your posts about YW's! I bet they simply adore you! How lucky for them to have a leader that cares so much! I need some inspiration for my next lesson. I teach in December..Standing as a Witness of God. Got any good ideas?

Hi there! Unfortunately I'm not teaching that lesson BUT you might be able to find some ideas from our New Beginnings program this year – our whole theme was around 'STANDING' and 'SHOES' – you can see it: http://marcicoombs.blogspot.com/2013/01/new-beginnings-2013.html
