My opinions in this post are 100% my own.
Living in the desert does have it’s advantages.
Our winters are the best in all of the country AND we get to swim ALL YEAR LONG!
My kids have pretty much become fish.
They all learned to swim at such a little age {you practically have to if you live in Arizona!}
To say that they LOVE getting into a pool and swimming for hours on end, is an understatement.
Preparing my kids to swim has become a regular ritual for us.
First and foremost – – they put on their suits…
and aren’t they darling in them?
London’s been dying for a ‘tankini’ and Speedo had the perfect one!
Grant’s suit and shirt HERE.
London’s tankini HERE.
The back of this suit sealed the deal for me.
Isn’t it the CUTEST?
Next up – – the kids know to grab their towels.
I don’t care HOW hot it gets here – – you still need a towel to dry off — even when it’s 120 degrees outside.
We also, always make sure to load up on water.
LOTS of water.
Staying hydrated while swimming is a MUST.
Also a must?
Lubing the kids up in suntan lotion.
Even if there are clouds in the sky – – they know that they HAVE to wear sunscreen. No matter what.
Last but not least – – London ALWAYS grabs her goggles.
THESE goggles are oh so perfect for her, too.
They cover her eyes and let aboslutely NO water into them.
{Which is a beautiful thing because if the tiniest drop of water gets into her goggles – – tears are shed}.
She LOVES this and loves the fact that she can adjust them all by herself.
Grant taught London how to dive the other day and she’s 99.9% got it down.
P.S. Why do my kids look so old in these pics?
Can we please just freeze time?
