Next week our family will be enjoying MUCH cooler temps in Southern Utah {a place very near and dear to my heart}.
The Lamoreaux’s {my side of the family} stays in a cabin up there evey year over the 4th of July.
We are really REALLY excited for this annual tra-dish.
Two of my FAVORITE things to do at the cabin are:
Read & Play games.
{Busy life seems to get in the way of those 2 things here at home}.
So I’m asking my blog readers a question….
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE GAMES TO PLAY TOGETHER AS A FAMILY?

I’ve been playing this card game since I was a little girl.
My grandpa taught my siblings and I how to play and it’s become one of our FAVORITES of all time.
So fun to NOW play it with my own kids.

If you like ANY type of ‘I Spy’ type of games or pictures – – you’ll LOVE this game. I promise. It’s fast paced and good for EVERYONE. Unless you’re my dad – – who NEVER seems to be able to find ANY of the pictures he’s looking for.
{Chuckle}.

Any places to eat that we MUST TRY?!?

Telestrations, buzzword, carcassonne (it's way better than settlers) are some of our favorites right now. There's a newer Yahtzee game that is pretty fun too. Have fun!
When you are in Salt Lake you MUST go to The Park Cafe for breakfast!!! The wait on Saturdays can be kind of long, but it's not as bad on weekdays, but it's always worth the wait. They are hands down the best breakfast in SLC! The French Toast Foolishness with their homemade strawberry jam (instead of syrup) is so incredible! Sitting on the patio is preferred. Plus is across from the restaurant is Liberty park which is so fun. There is a large pond where you can feed ducks or ride paddle boats. There is an awesome playground and there are rides. This is the park where the Ferris Wheel scenes from the Mormon Flick Charly was filmed. 🙂 you guys would probably love Red Iguana, it's homemade Mexican. They were so popular they opened a second location about one street over from the original. (They were on diners drive in & dives. Slc has good food!!!) If you love BBQ there are a few places in SLC for good food. R&R and also Pats. Pats was on diners, drive ins and dives. Also Moochie's has amazing meatball subs and Philly cheesesteaks. They were also on diners, drive ins and dives. The best place for ice cream is hands down- Leatherbys! It's a family run business, all homemade ice cream. Its amaaaazing! My favorites there are the Traci's peanut butter cup and the almond joy. The location in taylorsville is the best,. There is a new one in Draper but I haven't been there yet, however it's probably just as good. Finally… You HAVE to go to Beyond Glaze donuts. They are delish!!!! I know you all love trying new donut places! My favorite there is the coconut cream cheese donut. We have some excellent donut shops in town, but I don't think any of them touch beyond glaze, they are out of this world!! I hope you guys have fun here and get to eat at some great places!!!

We found a new card game at Christmas called Cover Your Assets. It is a blast and doesn't take forever to play. First one to a million wins.

If you go through Provo on your way to Heber, there are a couple of restaurants you could try – Black Sheep, Station 22. Also, a new Italian one Oregano's haven't tried but many say it is very good. For a soda shop there is Sodalicious it is way good.

Some games we love are Farkle (all ages), King of Tokyo (for a little older kids and adults), and Monopoly Deal. It's a quick card version of Monopoly.
I know you'll be in Heber area, but if stop by American Fork, there are two places, one called Swig and the other Slurp that do all sorts of soda combos and sweets. Definitely something you'd like!
I second swig!! They have several locations in So Utah. You could stop on your way up. It's all about the Dirty Dr Pepper and sugar cookies! The sprite with coconut combo is good too 🙂
