Dessert Recipes you must TRY!

May 9, 2012 | Uncategorized

I’ve been baking lots lately.
Baking is rather therapeutic for me.
And I always enjoy it even MORE when I get to bake for OTHER people.
Here’s what’s been brewing in my kitchen the past couple of weeks:
German Chocolate Cake Bars
This recipe is from one of my very favorite cooking blogs: Six Sisters Stuff.
Everything I’ve ever tried from them…has been amazing.
As were these cake bars.  They were so easy and SO yummy.
I substituted the chopped pecans for chopped almonds and they were perfect!

Mississippi Mud Brownie. Brownie with a Oreo cookie crust!
This recipe is from The Idea Room and let me warn you…these brownies are DIVINE.
They’ve got an Oreo crust.  Need I say more?
I DOUBLED the brownie batter and cooked mine in a 9 x 13 pan.
It takes about 20 minutes longer to cook this way but you get so much more.
Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies
I’m always on the hunt for puffy, soft, chocolate chip cookies.
I tried this recipe from Sunday Baker yesterday.
They are my new favorite go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe from here on out.
They were BEYOND DESCRIBABLE YUMMY!

The recipe uses a box of instant Vanilla pudding.
I halved the recipe on this website and was able to get almost 3 dozen cookies.
Needless to say…they’re almost gone because they are THAT good.
And…. as promised….here is my friend Rachel’s recipe for seriously…the BEST EVER LEMON BUNDT CAKE .  I don’t even LIKE lemon flavored ANYTHING.  But I LOVE LOVE LOVED this cake!  Promise.  So moist {and I really hate the word moist!}  So flavorful.  So perfect!
Enjoy!
1 box lemon cake mix
3/4 c. water
1 small box lemon instant  pudding mix
3/4 c. oil
4 eggs
1 c. sour cream
Mix all ingredients.  Bake in well greased, floured bunt pan at 350 for 50-60 minutes.
As for a glaze….I mixed together powdered sugar, milk and lemon juice and drizzled that on top.
My friend ALSO says that you can make this cake and substitute the lemon with a CHOCOLATE cake mix, CHOCOLATE pudding mix and then add 1 cup of CHOCOLATE CHIPS for the BEST EVER CHOCOLATE CAKE.
Definitely will be trying that next!

I agree with Tonii – I think I just grew a dress size by reading this post. But seriously, who can resist a good cookie/cake recipe? The lemon bundt cake looks delicious – I'm a sucker for citrus flavored cakes! Try the Key Lime Cake (pinterest) from the Lettered Cottage. Yuuummmm!
