How can you NOT love the movie “ELF”?
I mean for reals.
Best. Christmas movie. Ever.
{Ok so it’s tied with “Christmas Vacation” and “A Christmas Story”}
But it’s a classic.
And so are ALL of the lines in the movie.
I just KNEW we had to incorporate it somehow to our neighbor gifts this year and so my idea was born:
HOMEMADE MAPLE SYRUP!
{Think waffles & pancakes}
Don’t worry – – I’m sharing the recipe too!
Aren’t those labels PERFECT?
Michelle at Tipsy Graphics makes my labels each year,
and she never disappoints!
I always just tell her the idea I have and she’s able to whip up something fabulous.
If you’d like to try out the syrup for yourself {which I highly recommend!} here is the recipe {adapted from THIS one.}
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup water
1 cup corn syrup
1/4 tsp maple flavoring
3/4 tsp vanilla flavoring
Boil sugars and water together.
Add corn syrup and flavorings. Bring back to a boil for one more minute and then take off of heat.
*Side note: I used pint sized jars for these and one recipe made up 1 1/2 jars. If you’re making a lot of these, I would suggest quadrupling the recipe.
*Double Side Note: I LOVE this recipe because it DOES NOT need to be refrigerated. It can be kept in your pantry. AND…it’s super easy to make. AND….it’s super tasty.

Marcy, Love Love Love your neighbor gifts. I went onto the website where you got your labels but I don't see them on there. Do I need to email her and ask for them? Thanks, April Lewis
