Yup, this pic has nothing at all to do with my recipe. But isn’t it cute?
Also – I forgot to take a pic of my pork roast when I made it. I was not thinking ahead so you’re just going to have to trust me on how yummy it is. Bonus: It’s made in the crockpot so it’s a WIN for everyone involved!
Also, also: why when you go onto Pinterest and click on a recipe – – you have to scroll down about 5 pages before you get to the actual recipe? Like the blogger has to tell you a 1 hour story about why that recipe is important to her. Does anyone else notice this? Just me? It’s super annoying. I’m sure has something to do with advertisers and getting more ‘clicks’ but let’s be honest – – we want what we want and it’s just the darn recipe! So here ya go:
Cranberry Pork Roast in the Crockpot
1 – 3 to 4 pound pork roast or loin – either will do!
1 can of whole cranberry sauce
1 package dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup of orange juice
Mix together in a bowl your cranberry sauce, dry onion soup mix and orange juice. Generously salt and pepper your pork roast in the crockpot and then pour the mixture from your bowl all over it. Cook on high about 5-6 hours.
Once the pork is done, place on a plate and let set. Mix together in a small bowl about 1/4 cup of flour with some milk. Add just enough milk to make it a thickish liquid. {Not too thick and not too runny. You know what I mean.} Take the drippings from your crockpot and use a strainer and drain the drippings into a small pot. This will allow the big chunks of cranberries to stay out of your gravy. Place your pot onto your stove and bring to a boil. As soon as it starts boiling, add your milk flour mixture, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes. This makes such a YUMMY gravy for your pork.
We served mashed potatoes with ours and used the gravy on top of that too! Also: I don’t love cranberry sauce. Like…I always pass on it at Thanksgiving time. But it gives this pork THE PERFECT flavor so you really should probably try it! 😉
