Friday morning I drove out to my very favorite cake decorating store in Phoenix. These guys have EVERYTHING you could possibly need, baking wise.
And yes, I got WAY too excited over these cute Halloween cake boxes. It’s the little things guys!
Afterwards, I met some of my dearest riends for brunch at Hash Kitchen.
Their chilaquiles were BOMB. And funny story….my friends and I are all the same age-ish. As soon as we sat down, we each commented on HOW LOUD the music was in there. My friend even had enough nerve to ask our server if they could turn their music down. Our server informed us that on Fridays….they have an in-house DJ {what?!} and lo and behold we looked over and sure enough….
She was right! We laughed SO hard. And felt SO OLD.
The boys went out with friends on Friday night and London had friends over to our house.
These girls are the SWEETEST!
Saturday morning I woke up and my right eye was on FIRE! It hurt SO bad. Like….excruciating pain. I couldn’t keep it open….I couldn’t close it….it just HURT. Not my eyelid either….my eyeball!
Luckily, my eye doctor was able to somehow fit me in that day {I might’ve been crying on the phone when I called to check} and it turns out that I scratched my eyeball pretty bad {probably when I took my contacts out the night before}. I have to wear my glasses {gasp!} until I see her again on Wednesday and was prescribed three different things to take to help it heal.
You guys! My glasses are at least 15 years old. And they’re as thick as Coke bottles. I ONLY wear them at night time before bed. I know that it could be MUCH much worse…..but I’ll be hibernating in my house now for the next few days until I see my doctor again.
I didn’t even go to church today. {Because no makeup either. It’s a pretty bad combo, if you ask me}.
I did try and make the best of it and made shredded beef tacos for dinner with cilantro lime rice and then whipped up my very favorite Pumpkin Snickerdoodle cupcakes for dessert.
My kids kill me. Whenever I make a fancy dessert….they’re like…meh!…and usually pass on it.
In more exciting news……
I got a text that my ballot had been counted!! Have you sent yours in yet??
