This weekend was hot. Like 116 degrees HOT! It was pretty brutal. We tried to stay inside as much as possible.
The kids all went swimming with cousins on Friday. I stayed home and cleaned up and baked.
Blueberries are on sale practically everywhere right now and so I couldn’t resist.
I made THIS recipe and they didn’t last long.
We went out to eat on Friday night with Joe’s twin brother and his wife. We ate at Tia Rosa’s….haven’t been there in forever. I feel like I haven’t been to A LOT of local places in forever because of Covid. It was yummy as always and their Diet Coke was just as strong as I remembered it.
We stayed home mostly all of Saturday. It’s times like these…we really need a pool.
We grilled hot dogs for dinner and I tried out THIS copycat JDawgs sauce recipe. It was DEELISH and tasted almost exactly the same. JDawgs fans…try it!
We slept in on Sunday and then had at home church. If things ever go back to normal…I’m really going to miss having church at home. It’s just so…..nice. And I’m not talking, just convenient, nice. I’m talking, peaceful and spiritual and sweet, nice. It’s amazing how our homes can literally turn into a bit of heaven on earth if we allow it to. {Full disclaimer: my home is usually full of chaos and complaining.}
Sunday night we headed over to my sister’s house to say goodbye to my cute niece Hayley who is getting ready to leave on an 18 month mission for our church this week.
She got her mission call to serve in Armenia but because of Covid, she’ll head to Nashville, Tennessee first.
She’s had to learn Armenian AND Russian during her at home MTC experience and we could not be more proud of her and her bright future!! She’s a wonderul example to all of us and we can’t wait to hear about all of her fun stories.
