I snuck out early Friday morning to get my car washed. Chores like this need to be done early in the morning now {well, at least if you want to get out and vacuum and clean your car after the wash…because it’s just too dang hot during the day now to do anything much outside!}
Treated myself to a beverage afterwards…
You guys…I have a beef with QT. Why are their sodas 50 cents MORE than Circle K? I get it – it’s just 50 cents….but why does it bug me so bad?
We somehow managed to hit the jackpot and were able to get the boys into the barbershop on Friday afternoon for a MUCH NEEDED haircut.
I always forget how dark and how much hair my boys have until I see it all on the barbershop floor, haha.
Friday night we hunkered down and watched Dateline with treats. I was a tad disappointed. I was all hyped up to watch it because duh….it was on polygamy….only to realize that it wasn’t anything really new at all…mostly just re-caps. I hate when they do that.
Saturday I ran a couple of errands which included a stop at Goodwill because it’s literally been MONTHS since I’ve been there. And guess what…..it was pretty skeevy. I don’t think I’ll be going back for at least another month. Also…why was I the only one wearing a mask?! Anyhoo…..I did manage to score a brand new pair of Vans for London…
For TEN bucks!! So I guesss….it was worth it. I did sanitize the heck out of my hands afterwards, LoL.
We all did chores on Saturday afternoon which included FINALLY putting away my Easter decor and busting out some of my summer//patriotic decor.
Saturday night Joe and I ordered takeout from our very favortie chinese restaurant and took it over to his parent’s house for a picnic on their patio. It was SO fun to get together with some of the adults in his family….it’s been so long.
Sunday morning I slept in until about 10 am and then was awakend by these two cute nuggets with breakfast in bed…
London has been prepping for Mother’s Day for the past 2 weeks and her giddnyess with all that she did to surprise me made my heart want to burst!!
She was SO excited that she woke up at 5 am just to decorate the kitchen table for me. Gosh, I’m glad I have her.
She sent me on a scavenger hunt for one of my presents and came up with ALL of the clues by herself. Including this one, my favorite…
Seriously. I could not be more proud.
My mom and sis came over for our Sacrament meeting.
{My dad was at home not feeling well. BOOOO!}
On Saturday we ordered a take and bake takeout special from the Olive Garden and so we feasted on that for my Mother’s Day dinner.
When no one has to cook on a holiday…it’s pretty much a WIN! WIN!
Sunday night we headed over to my parent’s house for dessert.
It was SO nice to get together with everyone again. We really haven’t done this since the quarantine began at the beginning of March! Our kids were SO happy to be surrounded by their cousins, it was fun to watch.
So grateful for such a loving mother, a wonderful mother-in-law and fabulous sisters and sister-in-laws in my life. My Mother’s Day could not have been more perfect. It was just what I needed.
