* I helped my mom start planning
for our MISEL family reunion this fall.
My Great Grandfather – John Phillip Misel |
Isn’t he handsome?
I LOVE going through old pictures of my ancestors.
* I met a dear friend for lunch at Kneaders.
{Fun Fact: I actually ate there TWO days in a row and ordered the SAME exact thing both days.}
Turkey Cranberry Sunflower salad – sub romaine lettuce for the spring mix and omit the mushrooms. YUMMMM!
And it’s probably a good thing I don’t go there on a regular basis like I did this past week because I’ve discovered a new dessert there that is TO DIE FOR!
It is a piece of HEAVEN in your mouth.
{Think cookie mixed with brownie mixed with Oreo something or other. HEAVEN I tell you!}
* Friday night Carson’s teacher organized a class family pool party at the pool right by our house….
Who’s the kid ‘hamming’ it up on the bottom? Yup. That’s mine. |
Such a FUN night.
We are so blessed with such GOOD teachers
and GOOD friends in our lives.
* Saturday was ‘London & Mommy’ day.
{This was used as a bribery tactic earlier in the week when London didn’t want to go to school because it was ‘toooo looonng’. Lol.}
We took the boys to my parents house and hit up the mall.
A Beanie Boo and pink sucker were purchased.
Lunch {London’s choice} at Chick-FilA.
{I sure love one on one time with my kiddos.}
* Date night with my hubbers Saturday night.
We ate at the OG.
Their chicken Gnocchi and Zuppa Toscana soup
are the bomb!

We also saw the new ‘Get on Up’ movie
{about singer James Brown} and we both REALLY liked it!
Chadwick Boseman plays James Brown and he DEFINITELY in my opinion, needs to earn an Oscar nomination for this role. EXCELLENT!
* Churchey-church on Sunday.
We went to Joe’s twin brother’s ward, to be apart of his cute little baby boy’s blessing.
* 3 hour nap afterwards.
{That’s right! THREE hours. BLiSS!}
* Grilled steak, rice and roasted veggies for dinner.
I think that ‘roasting’ veggies in the oven is my NEW favorite way to cook em. Man, they’re good! It was squash and zuchinni tonight. Although my kids wouldn’t touch em…
Joe and I snarfed em down!
How do YOU cook your veggies?
Tips? Ideas? Hints??

I roast mine in the oven. I tried it with asparagus for the first time, it was super yummy!
