* Friday morning was our kiddos elementary school talent show.
London did a lyrical dance with her bestie.
They made the entire thing up themselves and it was oh so sweet.
Carson and his buddy from the Boyz Crew did a hip hop performance and they rocked it.
Watching my children perform…doing something that they LOVE to do…might just be my favorite thing ever!
Also: how cute is our front desk lady??
She was part of the Taylor Swift ‘Welcome to New York’ act.
Don’t you just love it?
{Seriously…we have THE BEST community!}
* Afterwards, I ran errands for the weekend which included a stop at my very favorite place to buy tortillas.
Locals: It’s on Power and San Tan Blvd. and it looks totally sketchy on the outside {ok AND on the inside} BUT….
…these tortillas are FRESH and LEGIT and now I won’t buy them from anywhere else!
* We tried a new {to us} burger joint for date night in Tempe.
Joe and I split the Hatch Burger and it was dreamy!
As was their fries and all of their dipping sauces.
Dessert afterwards at Slickables.
I’ve tried a few different ice-cream sandwich shops and this one is my fave.
The cookies are SOFT, the mint choc chip is exactly the way I like it! AND…..they’re only $2.50! It’s a bargain.
* Saturday morning breakfast at the McDs.
I had to laugh.
These kids + their grandparents were ALL on their electronic devices the ENTIRE time we sat next to them.
Sad. And funny at the same time.
{Also: this is one of my pet peeves.}
* We had some of our favorite peeps over Saturday night for dinner and so the rest of the day was spent whipping up some of my favorite Mexican food for them.
We had such a great time with them.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends in our lives.
* Churchey-church on Sunday.
No meetings for either Joe or I all day and it was SO nice to be able to come home and relax the rest of the day.
We ate leftovers from the mexcian fiesta…Joe and London tried a new recipe for cookies…
And I started making candy lei’s for Carson’s 6th grade class.
Carson’s cute teacher wanted to make one for each of her students since our school does a ‘clap out’ for all of the 6th graders on the last day of school.
Since I know how very busy teachers are this time of the year I volunteered to do them for her!
{We 💜 our teachers!!}
* On Memorial Day Monday:
– London went to a swim party at her friend’s house
– Joe and the boys went to see the new Star Wars movie
{Fun Fact: I’ve never seen ONE! SW movie in my life.}
– And I spent the morning over at my Mom and Dad’s house typing up old love letters from my Grandpa Lamoreaux to my Grandma while he was serving in WW2.
There are HUNDREDS of these sweet things and I am having the BEST time going thru them with my mom.
Our hope is to type every single one of them up so that then we can compile them into a book for whoever wants one for family history purposes.
Journals, old letters from my grandparents and ancestors…I cannot get enough of. I feel such a sense of connection to them when I read their words in their own handwriting. There’s something so neat about it I just can’t explain it.

I love that you're typing up those letters! How amazing that you have them. What a gift.

What a fun weekend, but I honestly got so emotional looking at those letters ( ok not emotional, down right bawling ) that is one of the most sweetest, precious pictures I’ve seen!!
