While I was going through my archives this past week, I fumbled upon this fun little NEW YEAR’S activity we did a few years back in Young Womens. For anyone who’s interested – – – here are the details:
This activity includes roasting marshmallows, a bonfire, burning up bad habits, and making New Years resolutions.
What more could you ask for, right?
I got the clever little idea from the blog Go Forward with Faith HERE. That cute little blog also provided the FREE printables of these Ignite the Light tags. I attached them to some $ store flashights and handed them out at the end of the activity to each girl.
I handed out these paper slips…
…and had the girls write down AT LEAST one bad habit that they wanted to get rid of in 2012 {2016 if you’re doing it THIS year!} Once they did that, they walked over to our bonfire and threw the piece of paper in.
It was a symbolic way of ‘burning up’ their bad habits ๐
I found THIS cute New Years printable over at Thirty Handmade Days and printed up a copy for each of the girls.
They had fun filling these out and at the end, I collected em, told em I would make copies {they were afraid they might lose them} and then email them periodically throughout the year with reminders as to what they want to be working on.
Gosh I miss being with these cute girls.
Some are married, others have served missions — and I could not be more proud of them!
P.S. For those that have inquired – – – –
YES! I will be creating new items for my Etsy shop SOON which will include new products with the 2016 Mutual theme, Primary Theme and also for Relief Society.
Hold tight while I get my motivation back ๐
Maybe the kiddos going back to school tomorrow will make me more productive. {Fingers crossed!}
