This is the time of year that I always start itching for Fall-ish EVERYTHING!
Living in Phoenix…technically ‘FALL’ weather doesn’t start for another month or two.
But since our family anticpates just about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING we decided to get a head start on our Fall-ish activities.
We threw ourselves an APPLE themed PARTY a couple of weeks ago and it was SO much FUN!
I decorated our kitchen table…
My kids LOVE ANYTHING personalized with their names on it.
Hence…the personalized place settings.
Apple juice was served in mini jars with a cupcake holder on top and straw punched through.
Plates were made from just regular red paper plates from the grocery store and a hand cut stem and leaf {from cardstock} attached onto the back.
We had an APPLE TASTE TEST bar…
Where we tasted ALL SORTS of different types of apples.
As each apple was tasted, we wrote down adjectives that best described that apple.
Carson’s quote about the GOLDEN DELICIOUS was hands down my favorite.
We voted at the end and the RED GALA apple came out on top!
Since APPLES are part of TREES, we decided to do a fun litle game based on our OWN family tree!
I printed out pictures of Joe and I’s parents AND each set of our grandparents.
As each kid took their turn picking out an apple, they had to guess it’s proper place on the tree and then my husband and I told a brief story about each person picked.
This was such a FUN way to teach our kids about their ancestors.
Grandma Lamoreaux was hand to read the kiddos the Dr. Seuss classic
“Ten Apples Up on Top”…
And we played a few rounds of the APPLE stacking game.
{See who can stack the most apples without them falling over!}
London won with THREE and she was pleased as punch!
We finished off the afternoon by making one of our very favorite desserts.
Step by Step instructions WITH recipe…coming TOMORROW!
{Served with a side of vanilla ice-cream, this dish is DELISH!!!}
