On Day 8 of our vacay we checked out of our cabin and decided that we weren’t quite ready to go home just yet.
We headed down the mountain and spent the day in Cedar City – – a cute little town that will ALWAYS be near and dear to my heart.
My parents + grandparents were born and raised here.
Also – – they went to college here.
Also, also – – I went to college here.
Also, also, also – – I got my first ‘real‘ job as a radio DJ here.
It’s a pretty special place.
It was SO fun to walk around the campus of S.U.U. with my husband and kids.
My kids now wanna be Tbirds themselves for the sole fact that in the student center, they have these ginormous hammocks for all to lay in. {They also have a Chick-Fil-A so they’re pretty much SOLD!}
You can’t find a PRETTIER campus anywhere.
The green grass + old trees are gorgeous.
TBIRD for life!
* Afterwards we headed over to my very favorite restaurant in town.
Their salad bar is what my dreams are made of.
Peas + eggs + noodles + the best ranch ever.
Oh yeah – – and their breadsticks!!!

We met a DEAR friend of mine from college there and then headed over to the park afterwards so the kids could play and we could gab.
SO fun catching up with Lindsey.
No matter how long we’ve gone without seeing each other….we always seem to pick up right where we left off.
Also to be mentioned…
…the Polygamists were there.
Why do they fascinate me so much?!
Maybe it’s because I’ve read THIS book and have forever wanted to save the women within the organization ever since! {Seriously….it’s a GREAT read!}
* We shopped around Main Street afterwards…
They have some of THE CUTEST little boutiques and antique shops.
* We had milkshakes at Bulloch Drug….
And then met up with some of our favorite friends {remember the family who came up to visit us at the cabin?} for dinner at the All American Diner.
You guys!
This plate of roast beef goodness on top of a biscuit with mashed potatoes and gravy was only $5.99!!!
So tasty! So cheap!
My kind of place.
* We ended the evening back at our friends’ house where we stayed the night and sat out on their back patio laughing our heads off together.
Also…every guest bathroom should have one of these…
Isn’t that genius?!?

We see the polygamists here in northern Utah, my kids stare at them. So embarrassing…
That roast beef looks super yummy.

Love the jar idea in the guest bathroom. I enjoy hearing about all the food related things your family enjoys.

Ooh that roast beef !!!!!!!!
Polygamist living is so interesting to me !
I totally have almost that exact same jar in my guest room. Also at Walmart in the cosmetic department they have ' travel kits for men and women here they are about $5.. they have shampoo conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and brush and lotion etc… I buy one of each to top them up.. much cheaper than buying individually…and then I add things like tums, tampons, makeup wipes, floss etc.. I have a cute picture that says the WiFi password and a note saying to help themselves to anything they forgot.

Welcome to Cedar City…where every park is now where the polygamists hang out. All day long…everyday. Since they're being kicked out of Colorado City they seemed to have all moved here. ๐
