Butter Bars

March 24, 2011 | Uncategorized

So super excited to start posting yummy recipes again. My cute friend Liz gave me this one and it was DEE-LISH. I made them up for a little movie night I had at my house the other night with my cute 12-13 year old girls that I am in charge of at church. I would SO make them again. Super simple. Seriously amazing.

Butter Bars
Crust:
1 yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup butter (1 cube), melted
Filling:
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 stick butter, melted
3 cups powdered sugar
Combine crust ingredients and pat into a 9 X 13 pan. Beat cream cheese, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Add butter and sugar. Mix well. Pour over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

LOVE these! (for some reason, I especially love them for breakfast). Jane also has variations of them HERE to make them lemon or chocolate peanut butter. Also SO good!
