It’s officially BBQ season and I could not be happier.
My husband and I make a pretty good team when it comes to the BBQ department.
He grills while I whip up the side dishes.
{Fun fact: I, myself, have never ever grilled anything before in my entire life. Isn’t that crazy?}
Lucky for you – – I’m sharing our
VERY FAVORITE BBQ BAKED BEANS recipe today.
You are definitely going to want to add this one into your regular rotations this summer.
{It’s got a secret ingredient.}
First though – – let’s talk about the BBQ itself.
We LOVE grilling ribs.
My kids eat them up like there’s no tomorrow.
I also LOVE serving those ribs with watermelon AND our very favorite
recipe for BAKED BEANS.
Guess what all of these things have in common though?
A SUPER STICKY MESS!
Which is why I just recently added another BBQ ESSENTIAL to my list.
Wet-Nap wipes – – where have you been all my life?
Grillmaster in action. |
Our philosophy is – – the MORE sauce, the BETTER!
{Our favorite kind is Sweet Baby Rays.}
We probably used at least 50 Wet-Nap wipes just within a time span of 20 minutes.
{Why is it that we feel the need to wipe our hands after EVERY bite of ribs? Why don’t we wait til we’re finished and just clean it all off at once? That would be far too easy, no?}
We’ve FINALLY mastered the BEST and MOST TENDER way to cook our ribs.
First – Brown your ribs in the oven on 425 Degrees for about 10 minutes
Second – Cover with tinfoil, drop temp to 350 Degrees and bake for AT LEAST an hour
Third – Put those puppies on a grill, baste with sauce and cook until done
Here’s what you’ll need to make the BEST beans EVER:
1 large can of baked beans
1 regular sized can of black beans
1 white onion
1 yellow pepper
1 small can of crushed pineapple
Ketchup, Mustard and Worchestire sauce
to taste
Chop your onion and yellow pepper and
sautee in a pan with
3 Tbs. of butter until golden brown.
In a pot, combine both types of beans, pineapple and onion/pepper mix.
Add a few squirts each of ketchup, mustard and Worchestire sauce to your liking.
Heat on high and then turn to low to simmer until BBQ time.
{I’ve made these up before in the afternoon and then just put them in my crockpot on low to simmer.}
BONUS: Wet-Nap is running a contest right now called the Most Original Mess Contest. Participants can upload a photo entry of their messy kids and share the link across social media. The photo with the most votes wins a $1,000 giftcard to Walmart and a year’s supply of product. Voting will close on June 16. You can see more info and enter HERE.

Such a great idea to keep wipes near the grill. So smart!

I LOVE your pics of the kids enjoying their barbecue!! And I am always loving new recipes to try . . . you persuaded me to buy wet naps from now on instead of diaper wipes (which I use all day long for just about everything and don't even have a baby) because they certainly do look more respectable – LOL Great post.
