My Weekend Posts are BACK!
I’ve missed you. And I’ve missed sharing with you the highs and lows of my weekend.
The pandemic + quarantine time have been a funny thing. It’s made me step back and sort of enjoy my alone time. I really have cherished the time that our family has been able to spend with one another this past year. And to be quite honest, for a bit….I thought to myself….what does anything that I share have to do with anyone else?
Does that make sense?
This past week though I’ve had the nudging little feeling that it was time to get back to sharing. In all honesty, when I type my blog posts…I honestly just feel like I’m writing in a journal. To myself. I sometimes forget that I have people who follow me from all over the world. This past week I received a few different messages…some by mail, some by email from readers who are just so kind. Readers who have expressed their interest in what I do, as silly as that may sound. So those sweet messages along with a little tugging in my heart have made me get back at it. So here I am. Ready or not.
*On Friday we had our newly {is that even a word?} painted cabinets installed.
We’ve made a few changes/updates to our home this past month and that’s one of the things that’s been consuming my time and energy lately. I plan to share some before and after photos SOON! I’m so happy with the way it has all turned out!! I’m especially grateful to have my home back in order with no workers coming and going.
*Friday night we met the adults from Joe’s family for dinner to celebrate my in-laws anniversary! And since I’m just now getting back into the swing of things….I forgot to take a group pic.
I know I say this all the time but…we really are so blessed to have BOTH sides of our family live so close to us. We love spending time with them. We are so, so lucky!
*Saturday was spent running errands and running kids around.
Along with the changes that we’ve done to our home lately…it’s pretty much made me want to re-decorate every wall in my house. I’ll be sharing those changes with you too!! I’ve been wanting to add some photos and what not of things, places and people that have special meaning to Joe and I.
The photo of the cabin on the top shelf was my great Grandpa Perry’s log cabin. My dad grew up spending his summers here. There was no electricity – can you even imagine? It still stands today up on Cedar Mountain in Utah, although it’s old and weathered and beat down quite a bit. But when I was little, we’d ride up the mountain in the back of my grandpa’s truck {who needed seatbelts back then?} and we’d go and visit this tiny little cabin where so many family memories were once made.
*Churchey-church on Sunday. It’s always such a breath of fresh air.
*Sunday night we had my parents and my parent’s BFFs over for dinner.
My mom and Karen have been BFFs since I was a baby. Karen and Mike now live in Utah and came down to visit for the week. We grew up with this sweet family – their girls are all close in age to my sister and I. We pretty much did everything with them, growing up.
It was kinda funny being the one to make THEM Sunday dinner. Growing up, our families always had Sunday dinners together. Either at our house or there’s….and it was almost always roast beef. Which is what I made them. So fun to have them over and finish the weekend that way.

I’ve been “stalking” your blog!! LOL I’m so happy to see this post. My family jokes and says that you’re my BFF only you don’t know it. That’s kinda true. We have similar humor and taste. So glad to hear that you’re family is doing well. I love your kitchen and the herringbone tile is the best!!!
