Friday morning I successfully left the kids at home while they were working on their ‘online school’ and went grocery shopping. I only got TWO phone calls from London. We’re doing much better than last week, HA!
We are getting the hang of this online thing and realizing {sadly} that this is our new norm for awhile. I’ll take this though over having to completely quarantine, any day!! We can still go get our daily Polar Pops, the kids can still hang with friends….it’s do-able. Not my first choice…but do-able!
The boys had their yearly checkups on Friday afternoon. {Their doctor predicted the online school thing might just last until the new year. Here’s to hoping he’s wrong…haha!}
By the time 5:00 on Friday night hit, I was BEAT. I told Joe, I felt like I had worked a full time job all week!! My heart truly goes out to all of the working women + single moms who are trying to manage all of this on their own. You are HEROs! And never forget that!!
We ordered takeout from Panda Express and plopped ourselves on the couch for the entire evening. It felt OH SO good!
My Saturday morning was spent steam cleaning our family room carpet {bleh!} and taking these two cuties out for a treat…
London’s sweet little BFF is switching schools {she’ll still be close by!} and she’s devastated about it. Bahama Bucks definitely helped soften the blow 😉
I spent a good 2 hours on Saturday afternoon practicing the piano. It’s been SO long and it felt SO good to just sit down and play. It’s probably a good thing I get asked to play in church every once in awhile because it forces me to practice. I just wish I could play as well as I did when I was younger.
Churchey-church on Sunday!!!! Like…we actually went back to our building!!! Granted, we’ll only be going once a month for now but it felt SO great to be back and see some familiar faces again. It did my heart some good!
Elder Ballared posted this goodie on Sunday afternoon and I felt like it hit home. ‘YOU CANNOT CONNECT WITH HEAVEN IN A MASS OF CLUTTER’. It got me to thinking….what clutter CAN WE get rid of this week, in order to connect with heaven more fully? I just love this quote.
We went to my parent’s house for dinner on Sunday night. Cubby came too and felt like a hotdog, being included. He LOVES going to my parents house and practically JUMPS right out of our car as soon as we pull down their street. My mom made my favorite: roast with mashed potatoes. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….my mom’s roast always tastes TEN TIMES better than mine. As do her grilled cheeses, her pancakes and pretty much anything else she makes.
