This Easter Weekend:

April 13, 2020 | Easter, Family

Our Friday was spent preparing birthday treats for some of our very favorite people!

We also took part in a world wide fast for some relief from Covid-19.

Fasting is never easy but I’m so proud of my kids for participating with Joe and I.  We fasted for both breakfast and lunch and then broke our fast with takeout from Joe’s very favorite mexican joint in Phoenix….Carolina’s.

Their bean and cheese burro hit the spot! {Looks so nasty, but it wasn’t, I promise.}

We delivered birthday treats to my brother Kirk….

And then met up with Joe’s siblings to form a birthday parade for Joe’s mom!

Don’t worry…while we were setting up the cars…everyone stayed 6 feet apart 😉

Our kids were SO happy just to SEE their cousins!  Staying apart from extended family has really been hard for us!  {Especially, with it being Easter weekend!}

We honked and hollered and played music past Joe’s parents house.  It was SO fun to see them and deliver goodies for my Mother-in-Law’s birthday!

Ice-cream treats afterwards at Sonic.

You guys….I finally tried the Reese’s Overload waffle cone that they’ve been advertising and it was everything that I had dreamed it would be and MORE! The inside is literally layered with peanut butter!

Saturday was spent grocery shopping, baking and dye-ing Easter eggs.

Joe and I started “Unorthodox” on Netflix Saturday night and IT’S SO GOOD!  VERY interesting.  Only one more episode to go.

Our Easter Sunday felt much different than years past.

We had an easter egg hunt minus the cousins {cue sad music}.

We had Sacrament meeting at home.

These church meetings at home are really something special.

We Zoom’d my side of the family…

Luckily there were no recordings of what we spoke of because in true Lamoreaux form, it was highly inapprorpriate.  Made me miss them even more 😉

I successfully made my first ham EVER.  Like…a REAL ham.  With the bone and everything!

Now I need recipes for ham bone soup because….you guessed it…I’ve never made that  before either!

We ended the evening with a family walk.  I love that my kids still want to join Joe and I on these.  It’s so nice to get out of the house, even if we aren’t really going anywhere.  This Easter is one that we’ll remember forever.
